New Bern, located at the confluence of the Neuse and Trent Rivers and provides anglers with year-round fishing opportunities for a diverse range of saltwater and freshwater game fish. Spec Fever offers fishing charters throughout the year, catering to both light tackle and fly-fishing enthusiasts. From great winter and spring fishing to hot summer & fall topwater blow-ups, Redfish, striped bass, bluefish, speckled trout, flounder, largemouth bass, catfish, hickory and American shad and panfish, New Bern has a world-class saltwater fishery with a nice touch of sweet water action to satisfy even the most experienced anglers.

  • 5-hour long half day 2 anglers $600; 3 anglers $700

Fishing trip information

  • We provide all the necessary fishing tackle, lures, or flies for your trip. Our fishing tackle is of the highest quality, and we take great pride in the gear you will be using. You are welcome to bring your own tackle; however, please inform us about what you plan to bring, so we can adjust our tackle accordingly. 
  • Bringing a jacket or rain gear, sunscreen, a hat, and polarized sunglasses is always advisable. Bottled water, ice, and a cooler will be provided on the boat. Feel free to bring any additional beverages you desire for the day. In North Carolina, it is mandatory for anyone under the age of 13 to wear a suitable life vest while aboard a moving recreational vessel. 
  • We provide a cooler with ice and bottled water. You are welcome to bring a small cooler with additional drinks, snacks and lunch.
  • We adjust our meeting locations according to the predicted weather and the recent successful fishing. We'll determine our starting location close to the date we are fishing to maximize our productivity. We'll email, text or call you with the address of the boat ramp and launch time.
  • NC DMF now requires clients to report their harvest online at the end of the charter. The captain is not responsible and fines can be issued by DMF officers if you are not compliant. 
  • In compliance with our insurance company you will be ask to sign a waiver, thank you!
