Tarpon fishing in the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound has traditionally been a bait fishery. However, similar to trophy red drum fishing, Capt. Gary has pioneered a successful artificial lure and fly-fishing approach. The tarpon in the Neuse River are substantial, often weighing around 100 pounds. It's important not to equate Neuse River tarpon fishing with that of the Florida Keys. Following two outstanding seasons and chances to catch trophy redfish as well, we are excited to provide full day charters every year from July 1 through September 10.

While the Neuse River might not offer fishing quite like the Florida Keys, it boasts a healthy population of large fish. Take the opportunity to target both tarpon and trophy redfish for an exceptional day of trophy fishing.
