Booking your fishing charter with Spec Fever Guide Service

We have tried to simplify our booking process while still allowing you schedule your trip, the old fashion way! Please let me know when you'd like to go and what you're interested in fishing for. Year-round light tackle and fly-fishing charters are available from New Bern or Oriental, focusing on redfish, spotted seatrout, striped bass, bluefish, and flounder...

Our fishing charters, operating out of Oriental and New Bern, NC. We highly recommend full-day excursions for trophy redfish and tarpon. The peak season runs from July through September, with trophy redfish catches continuing into late October.  Booking 5-hour charters for trophy redfish may result in more limited success, Remember, we are trophy hunting!

Our trips to Beaufort/Morehead City are designed primarily for false albacore fishing during October and November, utilizing both light tackle and fly-fishing equipment. 

• 6-hour 3/4 day for 2 anglers$700

• A $300 per boat per day deposit must be paid to secure reservation. 
• Reservations not secured by deposits are subject to cancellation without notice.
• Deposits are refundable if cancelled greater than 30 days from the start date of the trip.
• 100% refunds for weather cancellations.  Weather cancellations are determined by the captain.

Spec Fever holds USCG, NCDMF, and NC Wildlife licenses and insurance. You will need to acquire a North Carolina saltwater fishing license and potentially a NC freshwater (inland) license. The freshwater is required in joint and freshwater areas we fish and are typically required for charters during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. You will be advised to purchase if necessary for your excursion. These licenses are available online.

We provide all the necessary fishing tackle, lures, or flies for your trip. Our fishing tackle is of the highest quality, and we take great pride in the gear you will be using. You are welcome to bring your own tackle; however, please inform us about what you plan to bring.

Bringing a jacket or rain gear, sunscreen, a hat, and polarized sunglasses is always advisable. Bottled water, ice, and a cooler will be provided on the boat. Feel free to bring any additional beverages you desire for the day. In North Carolina, it is mandatory for anyone under the age of 13 to wear a suitable life vest while aboard a moving recreational vessel.
